I think my gut perspective is Hoffman, Knight, and Ahern are all competing to take up Neronha's mantle (with Hoffman as Neronha's preferred successor, Knight pushing a "left Neronhism" and Ahern representing "right Neronhism"; while Solomon is attempting to take the right of the party.

there's this idea that if someone would just find the right words to describe things in public life, you eventually find ones that can't be twisted and not only do i think that's not true i think it's counterproductive. just constantly giving up useful concepts, always in retreat

Q2 finance reports are out. I am proud that for the second quarter in a row, we had the most individual contributions & half of our donations are $50 or less. This is truly a people-powered campaign — not bought by special interests. I’ll always have your back and I’m so grateful you have mine.

TARGET 12: Four JNC members who provided key votes Tuesday to advance Shekarchi's judgeship bid have given him $30,000+ in campaign donations One of the four says he saw no reason to disclose or recuse John Marion and Steve Frias among those crying foul www.wpri.com/target-12/sh...

Shekarchi got over $30,000 from commission members who voted for his judge candidacy

The head of a good-government group said failing to disclose the donations “reflects a profound lack of judgement” by the four JNC members.

Not gonna quote post anyone on this, but municipal-owned grocery stores won't solve food deserts. "Restarting enforcement of Robinson-Patman" will address food deserts. But a municipality can't enforce Robinson-Patman, so subsidizing low cost groceries is a noble but insufficient alternative.

Common Cause RI director John Marion said if ruling stands his group could pursue constitutional amendment "to enact a revolving door which will once again stop members of the General Assembly from using their current office to gain an unfair advantage" www.providencejournal.com/story/news/p...

What comes next after judge clears Shekarchi's path to Supreme Court seat

At question was whether Shekarchi's bid violated the state's 'Revolving Door Law.'

@sueanderbois.bsky.social for Lieutenant Governor: How I plan to take on the utilities on Day 1 “For too long, we have allowed an out-of-state company to control our electric and gas systems for the benefit of their shareholders. It’s time to put the power back in the hands of Rhode Islanders.”

the piece is about how the collapse of unionized labor in the construction industry has affected wages and working conditions, it took 60 interviews to do. pretty burned out on people just glancing at a headline and giving the most snide possible reaction
