Apropos of nothing, I think a science fiction comedy about two young ravers from 1996 who accidentally time travel to 2026, would be the most hilarious comic gold since Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure.

[Apologies to friends who are vegetarian and/or in recovery] One of my favorite things to do on a Saturday night is to dry-vape a flower of Marin Moonbeam, tune in to a livestream of German techno, and cook up a righteous pot of puttanesca sauce. I just wish I had friends here to eat it with me!

Its all about "free markets" and "let the market decide" until you have competition that shows how full of shit you are and then you run to daddy US government begging to stop these "bad" Chinese models from entering the market.

While we are in this Greek Mythology moment, may I remind you that Emma Thompson is adapting Pat Barker’s take on The Iliad, and she’s struggled to get it made bc the focus on what acts of war against women and survival thereafter actually look like (the core of Barker’s narrative) is too intense.

The actress told the Hay Festival she is writing a film version of Pat Barker’s The Silence of the Girls to draw attention to sexual abuse in war zones

Attention fellow Gen Xers: Deidre Hall — ELECTRA WOMAN herself from the Krofft Supershow — is beaming aboard the Enterprise in Star Trek: Strange New Worlds Season 4. Two of my childhood obsessions colliding in one casting announcement. If you know, you know. 🚀⚡

I’m about to kick off my favorite week of the year, which is the week where I spend absurd amounts of money dining out, and justifying it by telling myself I would be spending so much more if I were going to Comic-Con International .

Probably more helpful to think of them not so much as “Canadian wildfires” but rather “climate change wildfires currently consuming Canada”

Fuck this forced white male working class populism bullshit. If there’s any silver lining to this disgraceful horror show, i hope it puts that shit to bed forever. The working class is overwhelmingly composed of women, latinos, and immigrants in 2026. So they must finally represent the movement.

This doesn't just have resonance with today's repressive Christian cultures, it's a devastating critique of hundreds of years of storytelling of "rescuing" women who don't want to be rescued because life fucking sucks for them back in "civilization." substack.com/home/post/p-...

Puritans Wouldn’t Eat Pussy, So They Invented the Western

How a sex problem became a propaganda machine, and how that machine built the most durable myth in American culture.

The thing about right wingers “entertainment” - Trump events, alternative halftime shows, their movies, their “comedians” - is that it’s so bad that even right wingers don’t want to endure it. They want it to exist, just to Trigger Libs. But they don’t want to sit through it. They know what it is.

I finally made it to the Great American State Fair. The columns on this fake building are something to behold.

It pleases me to learn that more people showed up to the 5th annual Yakama Nation Lamprey Celebration on the Willamette River yesterday than have shown up to every day of Trump‘s “Great American State Fair.”

I’m in that paradoxical state where an introvert goes to a loud & vibrant gay bar in the heart of the Castro, drinks one martini, and feels utterly in tune with the noise/music/clamor of the situation. Happy Pride, my friends! 🏳️‍🌈🏳️‍⚧️🌞
