Analysts estimate that 70%+ of Microsoft, Google and Amazon's present and future AI revenues are from Anthropic and OpenAI's compute spend and model sales. Outside of two unsustainable AI labs, demand barely exists, and they've massively overbuilt capacity. www.wheresyoured.at/the-ai-deman...

Paul Klee : Chimney Movement, 1915 Watercolor on paper attached to Klee's custom mount 7-7/8 x 6-1/2 in | 20 x 16.5 cm Metropolitan Museum of Art, NY Further description in the alt text 👇

Style and Context: The painting dates to a critical transition phase in Klee's career right after his transformative 1914 trip to Tunisia, where he famously declared that color and he were one. Like many of his architectural abstractions from 1915, it deconstructs urban components—such as rooftop chimneys—into rhythmic, dancing geometric blocks and patches of color.

“I do not think that more information always makes a richer poem. I am attracted to ellipsis, to the unsaid, to suggestion, to eloquent, deliberate silence. The unsaid, for me, exerts great power: often I wish an entire poem could be made in this vocabulary.” — Louise Glück, Proofs and Theories

I miss when technology was exciting. Google was cool, search worked, information felt wildly, wonderfully accessible. Amazon was a wonderland of book discovery. The Kindle is a marvel! And now it's all the rancid sadism of dull men.

Scottish National Party chief executive Peter Murrell went to jail for 5 years for £400,000 of fraud. There was £10,000,000,000 of fraud in PPE, but it was an 'honest mistake'. So instead of 125,000 years in jail, there won't even be an investigation.

This point needs to be made over and again: The main purpose of wealth taxes should not be to raise revenue. That's a small and secondary benefit. The main purpose should be to *reduce the fortunes of the ultrarich*. Why? Because those fortunes present a massive threat to democracy and public life.
