"But if I put it out there, it might be accessible to AI!" The point of creation is that it should be accessible to PEOPLE! This aimless gut reaction to AI ends up only benefiting the capitalist mode of production. Privatization, how subversive! Next you're gonna say we should close libraries too.
I think some of you hate AI more than you love your community, and it really shines through when you embrace closed-source code, privatized information, closing off resources and hiding behind paywalls for things that should be freely available.
Wacom recently asked me to talk about why I make queer comics, and given there are multiple bills right now floating around in congress that are effectively "we will kill your livelihood if we get a sniff of queer" I had some pretty strong, simply feelings to relay.

They literally don’t believe in the free market principles they espouse. It’s just propaganda. The truth is they just want to be the only ones allowed to make all the money & they don’t want the consumer to have any choice.
Lupita Nihongo@otsumamiboy.blacksky.app · 5d agoA lot of good & smart people say they subscribe to capitalism & then they start describing checks on it or adding qualifiers like ‘well-regulated’, which are all things, any limitation at all, that successful capitalists aim to destroy. They don’t mind if their competitors are bound by them though.
