SCREEN Act, which would have required mandatory age-verification for sites (like this) that allow "material harmful to minors" failed to pass out of committee after thousands and thousands of people called their Senators. More work ahead!

Your voice matters and you should feel good that you made a difference. Obviously, the fight isn't over, but this was an important victory.
A reminder that a transphobe will be more dangerous to your child in the lockerroom and in sport than a trans person ever will be. A trans person will just wanna mind their business. A transphobe will try to inspect your child's body to transvestigate.
If you're trans in the UK today, it's super important to understand this: DO NOT COMPLY. The EHRC 'guidance' isn't legally binding, not even a little bit. You do not have to comply and you should not. Make your presence in 'single-sex' spaces louder, show them they have no control over us.
"Trans broken arm syndrome". Cisgender doctors, undereducated on gender affirming care, will look at said care with suspicion even if it has precisely no basis in medical science and makes ABSOLUTELY NO SENSE. We are not on their troubleshooting flowchart, and they forget everything from medschool

The first trans kid I met, circa 1995 was 13 and on estrogen. She's 43 now and living her best life. That was the *norm* until some busy body cis people went "BUT... what if they change their miiiiinds."

The last time I researched this, I discovered the timeline "sport is open to all; woman wins; sport is immediately closed off to women; women's league is eventually formed years later" is almost universal. Women's leagues were overwhelmingly created *strictly* to protect the egos of men.
