Istället för vilseledande siffror och valfläsk letar jag efter partiet som vill: - förbjuda spelreklam - förbjuda nätläkare - förbjuda/begränsa vinstuttag i välfärden - behålla infrastruktur statligt

Ruby developer pretending to understand data engineering. 🇸🇪
Hire this man to make your event absolutely slam. He does custom shit all the time and he delivers very consistent cool stuff. Live coding DJ, teaching your devs something to exercise their creativity, sky is the limit.
This next year is going to be extremely testing financially. Cost of living continues to grow & interest rates are crazy high. In the next 6 months I'm going to have to somehow earn a *lot* more just to continue to barely stay above the waterline. Not sure what to do. Suggestions on a postcard!

Makes me think of a local community installing fiber by themselves. Not expensive to install, not expensive to subscribe. Then they sold the network to a provider and the individual properties got the installation fee back as part the sale. Want to venture a guess if it’s still cheap to subscribe?
Private equity firms saw youth sports and thought: “How do we monetize this?” Now kids’ hockey is dominated by investors buying rinks, raising fees, and turning community sports into another profit machine. www.usatoday.com/story/news/i...
Not the same situation, but I’ve seen what I assume is more less the same trait at work more and more the last year or so. The kind of person that will talk nonstop for minutes in meetings, without it being a presentation, and even when the subject and forum calls for it being a back and forth.
Hey, interview podcast people, can you allow the guest you have invited to your show to ... speak? Please. I'm here to listen to what they have to say, I hope you are here for that also.
"Excuse me, do you have a moment to talk about our Lord and Saviour Pingu?"
As a dev, I think one of the most stabilizing things I've done to my computer is devcontainers for most things. As long as I have VS code and docker I can just work in any of my repos. Also means I don't "need" to have 3 versions of postgres and 15 versions of ruby installed _somewhere_.
I think a big chunk of the "linux is hard" sentiment stems from the fact that most linux users do weird things with their computers. basically this:
In an era filled with tech dipshits who never developed emotionally past the age of 13 & use their wealth to become odious monsters ... ... listen to Steve Wozniak.

I cannot express how much I loathe apps that have a monthly fee, unless it needs to pay for either content or infrastructure. That every other app on iOS is literally a scam doesn’t really help either.
I have a tremendous idea: SaaP Software as a Product Instead of paying every month, you just buy it once and then you just kind of keep it Who's with me
That moment when you write a POS app as a hobby project and it's fun. Not what I had in mind in my youth.

Google Photos not showing a map in the browser just might be the thing that finally gets me to self-host something instead.
the internet starting to re-fragment into having Actual Websites again as centralized social media self-destructs is unironically one of the absolute best, most positive things happening rn
We just wanted to take a moment to thank all our new supporters! Tomorrow, there will be more of us!
Man vet att ett företag tar ut en saftig vinst när de köper helsidesannons för att berätta hur lite vinst de tar ut.
If I ever created a platform, and then had Mark freaking Hamill appreciate it and request features, I'd probably geek the F out.
Excellent news, Bluesky! Now I implore you to add a "Drafts" feature to stockpile future posts. Thanking you in advance, mh
In an earlier reply I said that ChatGPT was the new rubber duck, but that didn't feel quite right. The rubber duck is almost meditative compared to ChatGPT. Maybe I don't want to optimize for number of lines of code produced?
My main anti-AI take: it's generally not as good as people believe and it's not going to be several magnitudes more advanced in 5 years. Still massively impactful and useful for a lot of purposes though.
You can measure an economy's actual, real life, concrete health by: are people able to do their own weird shit? Do they have money to survive doing their weird shit? Do they have the free time to do that weird shit? Fuck the metrics, just look for the dirtbags and artists and musicians and writers
A lot my feed is #elixirlang and #elixirjobs. And I'm not even mad! Constant feeling of "ooh, this seems nice". I've not actually touched Elixir in like 8 years, but somehow convinced that I'd be happy in a job where I'd get to use it.
