feels like a lot of people online see ppl moralizing taste in fiction (reading Problematic Books will taint you, etc.) and respond not with "the fiction you engage with doesn't reflect your moral fiber" but rather by flipping it and saying liking more transgressive art makes you a better person
tumblr users are like "anime art styles are pedophilic because the eyes are too big the noses too small and they have 'youthful' face features" like we havent gone through over an entire decade of this in mainstream western animation
