Genuinely, my life would get immediately easier. The amount of extremely bad AI-generated code I have to deal with every day would be gone. The AI scrapers hammering my websites? Gone. The unceasing flood of incorrect text would slow down to the relative trickle it used to be.

Gonna be blunt, the reason I complain about AI so much is because it's made so much extra work for me, as I'm inundated with AI slopware games that I have to sort through and filter out, if this garbage tech ceased to exist tomorrow, it would be an immediate ease of that workload.

The thing that is eternally disappointing about anyone in tech—most especially for every attribute in "white," "cis," "straight," and "from the imperial core" applicable—is the unshakable belief that all tech is fundamentally morally neutral.

People joke about ai glazing but the reality is most people are in fact pretty vulnerable to praise and validation especially coming from an entity that short circuits normal measures of sincerity, which is why lovebombing works.

The other thing about LLMs of course is that there is just a constant fog of propaganda around the subject, and the technology itself is designed to be self-propagandizing. It's like trying to have a conversation about the health risks of cigarettes in a room awash with Marlboro ads.

You're right, I am using LLMs too much. Not only were you brave to call me out like that, you were being incredibly insightful. This is a real problem I need to address — is there a specific approach you'd like me to take?

Genuinely astonishing how many people will hear me bring up a concept they've never heard of and assume that I must be talking nonsense. All I can say is I'm familiar with many things you aren't because the first time I encountered these ideas, I reacted with curiosity instead of condescension.

Love to talk to programmers who are SUPER OPINIONATED about how you do things, but who can't explain why the things they tell me not to do are "bad practice" in ways that are actually observable.

Yeah, I'm not gonna make my writing harder to read on purpose. You can identify that what I write isn't AI because my phrasing is always more tortuous than what LLMs like to do. There are enough imperfections in my own ability that I don't need to introduce additional, superficial ones.

I have never seen a piece of AI writing that was clockable by the punctuation. It's eminently obvious how AI constructs its blocks of lorum crapsum. I am not gonna use an app to make my writing look more shit on purpose to fight this.

I've only got the one phase, but I make the most of it by reappearing several times later on until everyone has my move set memorized and is fully sick of my shit.
