sometimes I write. sometimes I stare at birds. photographs/art my own unless otherwise stated. queer. it/its and she/her in unequal measure. 🔞 actually just a moth. maybeelse.site

Every woman deserves a pair of pants that makes her girlfriend stare covetously at her ass—but, friends, many women do not have such pants! Or even a girlfriend to stare at them! But we can change that, friends. Just give me your vote and I vow to make it our reading group's highest priority,

One of the things I learn again and again being an artist in creative spaces is that it isn't about who has the best *ideas* or *ability*, it's all about who actually is able to pull through and make the thing. Even if someone else *could* make it better. Even if someone else had the *idea* first. 🧵

I do think learning how to interact with cats makes you better at hypnosis. Just in terms of learning to read subtle body language cues, and figuring out the right quality of touch, and learning a specific individual's private grammar.

No Ender's Game, no Dragonlance (iirc), no Twilight, probably more I'm forgetting offhand, but Mormons have a huge foothold in SFF publishing and have been entrenched for quite some time and 10% of every dollar goes right into funding the genocide church (look up what they did to Hawaii for starters

and Mormonism unfortunately develops writers by encouraging daily writing as a self-development practise! Which is to say if you want to be principled about "I am not paying him any money for him to fund that", you've also got to not-buy e.g. any Schlock Mercenary books

The big disconnect in online media discussion appears to be between those talking about blorbos as if they are works of fiction created by real people with influences both conscious and unconscious, and those talking as if blorbos are real people

"... and I can say, well, it does not cause undue distress. It is tolerable. And I have always been prone towards this attitude—to take distress and dull its fangs, to make it small and normal until I have forgotten that it is indeed distress. And sometimes I believe my lies and think myself happy."

a piece of advice I've seen for complimenting someone's appearance is that you should focus on things that show either effort or thought (outfits, jewelry, hair, nails) rather than things which are innate (eyes, bone structure, etc). (this breaks when applied to trans people, of course)

MY ARCH-NEMESIS: All your great works, all your grand plans, culminating in this? *scoffs* I know now that you’ve never been worth my regard. I’d crush your frail body beneath my heel but for the fact that it would sully my boot. ME, NOSE DEEP IN HIS WIFE: cmm muh gmmum a mimih hih duhd
