Sure you're weedy, and kinda shy, but some girly out there must be needy for a weedy shy guy. Toronto. He/Him. https://funkaoshi.com

From Safe Parkside’s IG this morning. Correct to call out the local “progressive” councillor on this who did nothing for 20 years & actively opposed things like speed humps (for reasons). Betweeen him & Doug ford, not much difference on Parkside death strip.

Car crash in parksafeparkside A single vehicle crash on Parkside Drive this morning where a car somehow wrapped itself around a hydro pole causing a power outage. The driver and passenger appear to be okay. The power lines are hanging so low that trucks are clipping it as they drive by.
Police, fire and paramedics are on the scene now. A big thank you to Gord Perks 20 years of disregard and Doug Ford's absurd policies for making this possible!

The west Toronto rail path is open. It’s really open! Just the other day. Closed since 2022, Metrolinx said it would be a year. Ford Math. Anyway the artwork that outlined (space w out paint) the trees is now a memorial to those trees.

The Doug Ford gov't got >17,000 responses on its plan to weaken species-at-risk law. Internal analysis shows 98.98% opposed, warning of "negative impacts on Ontario’s biodiversity and ecological integrity." The government moved ahead anyway Exclusive @thenarwhal.ca thenarwhal.ca/ontario-enda...

Who would defend this station! I've had to tell people that despite it making no sense they will need to go on a journey to take the TTC. But forget that: I've also had help people—both locals and tourists—escape the station in the first place. People just taking stairs up and down going nowhere.

I should have known that by posting criticism of the Bloor UP Express station, I would still have people defending the system and mansplaining train stations to me. But also, I can’t believe people are defending such a massive design fail.

Noticing that wins land differently. A committee/council vote feels rather anticlimactic. Getting the news about saving Sneaky Dee’s in the establishment with all parties present was euphoric. But this Billy Bishop celebration? Whole other level. Congrats to all who fought and organized.

Alberta hasn't banned US alcohol imports. People here aren't buying it anyways. The debate over whether provincial governments should be banning it misses the actual point, which is that Canadians don't want to buy it in the first place. #cdnpoli

more and more i’m leaning on: don’t give these chuds coverage!!! why is the racist guy who gets off on getting quoted in the paper getting quotes in the paper over the trans woman or the sudanese labour organizer who are also running in the same race? why does the evil shithead get amplified?

New from me: Controversial online activist says he’ll run against the Toronto councillor who accused him of having a ‘white supremacy view’ www.thestar.com/news/gta/con...

In this photograph, PM Mark Carney is touring the Government Operations Centre - the nerve centre that leads the “integrated federal response to all-hazard events of a national interest.” The workforce there has been cut in half thanks to Carney’s public service cuts, from 100 to just 50 workers. 🧵

When the US struggles to put out wildfires, Canada has always been there to lend a hand. But when Canada struggles with the same, all Trump has for us are threats and insults. Canadians are tired of it.

After years of confusion at the Bloor UP Express station, I left myself a trail of stickers to get me to the right train. Then I investigated to figure out what makes the station so confusing. Top problem: they use an airplane symbol to mean "train." open.substack.com/pub/sharikas...

I left myself a trail of stickers just so I could catch the train to the airport at what's got to be the most confusing train station on the planet

never fucking forget that our tomato of a premier slashed tens of millions from our forest firefighting and emergency preparedness budget so now yea we’re surrounded by toxic air and whole communities are burning down
