Noticing that wins land differently. A committee/council vote feels rather anticlimactic. Getting the news about saving Sneaky Dee’s in the establishment with all parties present was euphoric. But this Billy Bishop celebration? Whole other level. Congrats to all who fought and organized.

Got a job so my sabbatical is coming to a close. Life served my employer bankruptcy lemons back in March and I’ve been making unemployment lemonade ever since. But I’ve missed working on a team, the work day structure…and the steady paycheques tbh. But it has been so so fun.

The only caveat ill put on “it was always going to die” is that the activist team forced the timing of that death, which in turn has provided the ownership of the businesses on the stretch some measure of confidence and comfort re: their future.
