Frankly from abroad, getting lost why so much money is needed for an election. Here we are putting former presidents in jail for a portion of this amount of opaque money. This democracy is on the verge of collapse. Elections won't be enough. We may take the same path here though

Wow. This—combined with the massive number of people who voted in the Michigan primary, and the closeness of the race—shows people assertively stating what they want with their votes. Sometimes, democracy speaks loudly. I hope people listen.

"Cisgender" isn't a protected characteristic & afaik nobody has ever suggested that people who identify as cis should have ringfenced rape victim support. Trans women are excluded from services ringfenced for the opposite sex, as is everyone. That doesn't mean they're excluded from all services

Top tip: when opposing rape victim support services for a given demographic, telling people who support those services "you're a scared little XYZ" is a tell

I hate Netanyahu. Re-electing Donald Trump ensures that Netanyahu will never be held accountable for his crimes. At the same time, anti Semitism is up all over the globe. Nazis are emboldened. I didn't sit through years of Catholic school to watch people like Netanyahu, Trump and Hamas flourish.

An investigation found that O'Reilly had plagiarised an undergrad's work, but decided this was just negligence, and he kept his job. This has attracted far less publicity than Prof Arday's case

People have to vote in their party's primary. If you don't, you end up with red candidate and blue candidate both of whom are funded by the same corporations. Michigan, you can vote for someone who doesn't take corporate money. Your primary is August 4th -> this Tuesday!
