No and you NEED to do the prox chat. It is crucial because some puzzles make it do you can’t hear each other and that’s the challenge. Talking over discord or in the same room would ruin that completely. This isn’t just prox chat to troll you or make it arbitrarily hard. It’s v purposeful.

I think the only argument against Big Walk is the puzzles being simple & repetitive but I would argue that’s because they are more challenges than traditional puzzles. They’re not big brain. They’re about big teamwork. The repetition works for me bc it feels more like evolutions/remixes than repeats

GOTY debates this year will be interesting because you are going to have people who played Big Walk with a group of 3+ friends and loved it. Then you'll have people who tried to play, but didn't have enough people or their group fell apart, etc. And they'll be like, "This game is as fun as mud"

four is good too because you get the full breadth of some of the bigger puzzles. i also enjoyed six, because during the puzzles where we had to split up there was often 1-2 people free to be runners back and forth between the groups, or to do errands like gourd/nipple/kong delivery

IMO 4 is best because you can duo up when allowed. Big walk is like a theme park and just like a theme park an even group is better than an odd so that you never feel left out but an odd group can still have a lot of fun you just have to sit alone sometimes.

I mostly played big walk with 3-4 people but I did do some 2 player. you can def do 2 and it’s still a lot of fun. It scales specifically for 2, 3, 4 and just allows for 12 total. The con of 2 is simply a more intense inventory squeeze so you have to do more drop off trips early on.

Janet if you haven't seen or tried it yet you should check out Demon Tides. Best 3d platformer in a while, and takes the bowsers fury open world idea and blows out to to a full game. Think wind waker + Mario.
