Call Out for Playful Forest Research Participants! Join us this summer to explore Tampere’s #Kauppi forest, play a ‘treasure hunt’ style game, and test a deliberately low-tech AI device as you make decisions on how the forest should develop or be protected.

Yesterday at DiGRA 2026, our group members presented a talk 'How to Play Academia: Conceptual and methodological observations,' inviting lively discussion on values and practices in play and being played in academic environments – particularly from the perspective of early career researchers. 1/2

Now that the Finnish public research database has been updated with the complete information, I can announce that I won the 2026 Academy Research Fellowship for the 4-year GenGam: Gendered Gam(bl)ing project.

Our team is enjoying the DiGRA 2026 conference in Maynooth! We presented our work on 'Intersectional pleasures and limits of game cultural participation and belonging in Finland' and are also involved in several other presentations and workshops. Our work is funded by the RCF #SuomenAkatemia.
