Strait of Hormuz - Trump will try to take credit for the deal that Oman and Iran are negotiating, but the USA wasn't involved in the negotiations. The war he started in Iran has spread and the US wasted all of our missiles and 18+ troops died/600+ wounded for a situation worse than before the war.

Shipwreck@shipwreck75.bsky.social · 14h ago

According to two regional sources, the deal under discussion sets up a 60-day temporary arrangement between Oman and Iran in the Hormuz strait, which could be extended. All inbound traffic of ships through the strait and into the Gulf would go in a northern lane through Iranian waters.

"Reluctantly," a federal judge dismisses the Oath Keepers seditious conspiracy cases. Trump DOJ "excuses criminal acts that caused a centuries-long pillar of our democracy—the peaceful transfer of presidential power—to buckle." "The court cannot write a different ending," he adds. buff.ly/NvVKnaW

This is the last of the prosecutions seeking to hold accountable those responsible for the events of January 6. That book is now closed. Today’s epilogue diminishes the gravity of that day, denigrates the work of the prosecutors and law enforcement officers who secured these convictions, and excuses criminal acts that caused a centuries-long pillar of our democracy—the peaceful transfer of presidential power—to buckle. The court cannot write a different ending.

Elon Musk is putting his space junk on the moon. That should be a discussion in itself, but don't we also need to discuss the fact that this rocket was supposed to fall back to earth? How did SpaceX instead have it crash into the moon?!? That seems like a huge error, but I'm not a rocket scientist.🚀

NBC News@nbcnews.com · 20h ago

A defunct part of a SpaceX rocket is on course to smack into the moon Wednesday — an exceedingly rare instance in which a human-made object is set to unintentionally hit the lunar surface. NBC News' Tom Costello explains why scientists are eager to learn from this collision.

Fascism is already here. In Texas, they're using the old trick of reducing voting locations to make it more difficult for people to get to the polls. It also makes the lines to vote much longer. A huge turnout is expected, so we should be INCREASING the number of polls not eliminating them! Listen:

History will regard the unprovoked attack & subsequent war on Iran as one of the most egregious examples of foreign state capture & of great power hubris in recent eras: “The U.S. Army has used up much of its stockpile of highly accurate long-range missiles during its five-month war with Iran”

The idea that a war only exists if there are casualties does not appear in the text of the Constitution. Nor does it appear in Madison’s notes on the Constitutional convention debates. Nor is there evidence it was discussed in ratification debates. It is made up.

Sen. Rand Paul: "I've had the debate with this administration ... they told me this isn't a war. I said, why isn't it a war? They said, 'Well, a constitutional war has to have significant casualties' ... initiation or declaration of war is *before* the casualties."

When they say the "costs outweigh the benefits," they are saying LGBTQIA+ lives are worthless. I vehemently disagree! All lives are precious. The bullying must end, and the suicides must be prevented. #ProtectTransKids 🏳️‍⚧️🏳️‍🌈

The United States Department of Education will no longer collect data measuring harassment, bullying, or assaults of transgender or nonbinary students. “OCR determined that its costs outweighed its benefits,” the Education Department said in a statement.

One more interesting point: this spring I sat down with Sharyn Alfonsi of 60 Minutes for an extensive interview about my Epstein investigation. Subsequently, CBS pulled the segment and fired the reporter. The MAGA buyout of media has unquestionably aided the Trump administration’s cover up here.

This is not a surprise. While there are non-frivolous legal arguments for these laws, they were always going to be an uphill battle given the Supremacy Clause. So far, no state mask ban aimed at ICE has been successful. That leaves it to Congress alone to rein in the highly unpopular use of masks.

Iranian-backed militias in Iraq threatened the regime in Damascus with a ground invasion if it acts against Hezbollah in Lebanon. At the same time, the Syrian regime conveyed a firm message to Iraq that if there is an attack by the militias on Syrian territory, it will respond.

Our 4th Amendment rights need lots of strengthening! We've not only got the technology advancements such as 24-hour public surveillance devices (like Flock AI cameras), but we've got the massive aggregation of our data by both government agencies and commercial sources. Legislatures must step up:
