THIS IS WHAT IT LOOKS LIKE WHEN YOU SLAM A ROCKET INTO THE MOON New images just dropped from NASA's Lunar Reconnaissance Orbiter, showing the crater formed by a SpaceX Falcon 9 upper stage when it hit the Moon on 5 August 2026. The new crater is 18 m across and 3 m deep.

A new video emerged which seems to show a surface rupture in Yatsushiro, Japan following the M6.8 earthquake in July! Exact location of the video would be 32°30'04.0"N 130°38'29.9"E. Absolutely wild. Only the second ever video of a surface rupture forming after the 2025 Myanmar video! ⚒️🧪 #geology

I feel like I cheated on WMATA tonight with Lyft. I was totally planning on taking the metro back home but walking out of the airport at 8pm after a 9 hour flight from Europe and seeing that Lyft would shave an hour off my commute home..... I knew what the choice would be tonight.

Crater Fact Friday ☄️DID YOU KNOW☄️ Layered ejecta craters are hypothesized to form in the presence of subsurface ice, where volatiles are fluidized upon impact. This means these craters can be used as a way to identify subsurface volatiles and resources on other planets!
