Ok i lost the og 2012 file in a hard drive ghost-out but managed to revive the track w/ some ableton antics 😆 I’ve finally got a remaster of Smoke Thief - ‘Space Girl Blues’. I’m sorry to ask but broke atm, but would anyone be able to make me a free sketch I could use for a single cover/t-shirts? X

I finally found a nice workflow that gets me fairly clean masters that are poss a bit on the quiet side but idc anymore . 😂 I’m just using one slightly charmed DA and one compressor in dual mono and then goin back into FF L2 plugin and it’s working out better than most of my mixes had for a while. I’ve also been stress testing using an app called ‘Satellite’ which plays the music through my phone with one click, which I just use to check whether there’s anything wreaking havoc with smaller speakers. I often misjudge broader mix image stuff on headphones, so the most transformative sessions are done on Bryston 2B-LP + mixcubes. After that u do a quick check on a sub and then tailor the final nuance either on speakers or cans. Also, I had been struggling with high frequency loss in left ear for the last 10 years, but I’ve actually found that if i hold my nose and swallow at same time, I get pretty much 19/20 hearing again so that’s good! Turns out not major hearing damage but likely a side effect of AS immune disorder. It’s a huge win lol. I still love music and it’s what brings me a lotta joy on tougher days, so hopefully this’ll be the first track of many in the near future. If I hit 14 lufs and there’s some emotion or something that’s my only criteria now lmao, I think my art existing in some flawed but ganbat’d form publicly is prob better than just ghosting around with ideas of perfectionism that I never attain lmao 🤣 anyway, dunno why I wrote my musical life story here lol. Lanterns’ pilot ep is one of the best in ages. Aaron Pierre showed in Rebel Ridge that he’s got incredible range, and that he can emote as well as he can chuck guys around, and I’d been waiting for more directors to realize how awesome he is. Pilot ep very well directed by Slow Horses’ James Hawes.

Drawing I did of a record store by night-time, open for the first time (with a sign outside saying Grand Opening and advertising a live set from 21:00 to 0:00 and featuring bands Offline Co-op, J(am)RPG, Two Steps Ahead, Mandice, and FSE Collective — all bands that the musician this is for, Dionté George, is part of. And speaking of Dionté, their sona, a Black humanoid sheep with a purple afro and dulled horns, wearing a light purple jumper, white shirt and purple overalls and shoes, is at the door waving attacked the viewer to greet them. Their face is one of unbridled joy. They have also got white headphones resting on their shoulders. The entrance door is not visible, but notable about it is that there is a ramp leading up to the entrance Behind them, past the entrance, is a rack of vinyls (Fresh New Presses). There's also a rack of vinyls right outside the shop. Some are fictional vinyls, while others are references to bands, projects, and songs of mine. On top of that rack are vinyl players from different eras, including a gramophone. On the window is a neon Open sign, a string of light bulbs, and some haphazardly stuck vinyls on the window panes. A neon sign with lightbulbs all around it hangs above the shop, reading in ornate text: "DiaTonic Records", and on the right in smaller more ordinary text: Records • CDs • Vinyl • DVDs • Licensed Merch • Live Venue
