Bainbridge has asked for an extension despite already being more than a year and a half late in adopting its Comp Plan. But as @georgiststeve.bsky.social notes in this story, the city had already been on track to adopt a compliant plan and then reversed course just this month.

I see there is growth vs degrowth discourse happening again, and I'd like to again suggest that Georgism cuts that Gordian Knot. Georgism recognizes the finitude of natural resources and says, "You may use them IF you compensate current and future generations for their loss"

FWIW I largely endorse this. LVT is better than traditional property taxes, but property taxes are significantly better than all the rest. One of the most impactful things Georgists can be doing right now is defending the valor of the property tax against slopulists of both blue and red varieties.
