Wildest drama of today: someone sold a character and all related rights for $3k, kept using the character afterward even after the buyer asked them not to, and then claimed "memory gaps due to trauma" when finally publicly called out about it almost 3 years after the sale. Because THAT sounds legit.

Authors should not have to be on trial for or disclose whether they have survived sexual abuse themselves in order to write a character who's survived it, and the demand for that disclosure is heavily predatory and abusive.

please understand. artists don't get nearly as much feedback (praise, comments or otherwise) as you think they do. much less than years and years ago. we don't know how much you like it. we don't know how it affected you. unless you say something, or recommend it, comment, reblog. anything.

go tell your favorite artists you like their work. you may think they hear it enough or your praise would be identical to someone else's so you say nothing, but i promise you they would love to hear it. and sometimes they need to hear it.

Between “Sex Purge Movie has no sex bc Sex Purge Movie director thinks sex is gross” and “Autistic person says they can’t look at cleavage or boobs in video games because of their autism” I fear we need to be even more aggressively pro-sex in media.

“I better not write this thing I love, or else jerks might interpret it the worst way possible—” Fun fact: if you ever hear this voice, you are legally allowed to beat it to death with mental hammers.
