assuming we don't crank the war back up to early March levels, with currently executing and funded production we'll be back to Feb 26 muns stock levels by ~FY28-29 which is still bad and stupid but also isn't a "this'll take us a decade to fix" sort of thing

Munitions hole is already being filled, we are already putting metric buttloads of money into this and MRO capabilities and the overall SRM chain, it’s already happening. They are the easier parts of this to remedy it will just take time

I know it sucks, but Dems have got to be prepared to inherit a munitions-and-readiness hole that is going to be expensive to fill, but which will need to be filled. Hardly the only such hole, but it will be a big one.

Moderator in the forum: And so you posit that the current disorder is a series of crisis interlocking into a single mega crisis Adamus Toozcus: That is correct and why I believe that this single crisis is what is causing our current Princeps Galba to attempt to sort it out. Civitas isn’t real

Small drones are killing more civilians than ever before - and we need to act. Here’s my thoughts on what we need to do, like establishing a center dedicated to evaluating and investigating drone attacks, training investigators, and explaining how IHL applies to self-defense against drones:

What Can We Do About Drone Attacks on Civilians? Some Thoughts

Lately, I've been spending a lot of time analyzing, reporting on, and researching the horrifying global uptick in the use of small, cheap, short-range drones to intentionally target and kill civilians...

If the other parties choose to blob together (which they will), they will paralyse each other for a few years and then we'll likely be back where we are now, just that the AfD will probably be even stronger. These coalitions are too broad to deliver what voters want, they're doomed to fail

But this is ultimately a trap as well because it forces voters into a choice between the AfD and a big blob of all other parties. It's perfect for the far-right because almost everyone who votes for the blob will likely be disappointed even if it wins. At best, the blob can buy time

The past few years have been an explicit test of two theories of how to win back AfD voters: first, the CDU just needed to pivot to the hard right under Merz and second that the Linke as a party was too woke and needed to turn to workerist anti-migrant nationalism via BSW. Both failed.

The latest poll for Saxony-Anhalt has the far-right at 41%. If some of the smaller parties (SPD, Greens, BSW) don't clear the threshold to enter parliament, the far-right may gain an absolute majority in September.
