Saw an ad for a psoriasis medication last night - woman is on couch with husband, and she says she is grateful he is still interested, they start kissing and he turns off the light - implied so he cannot see her skin. I have no words.

I have a request for panelists: for the 2027 Pop Culture Association Conference. We want to explore how naval history and traditions are taught about in fictional navies (Jack Cambell's Lost Fleet series Shannon battle during the War of 1812 in Robert Heinlein's Starship Troopers etc) Please DM me

so I started thinking about my fall courses today (sorry!) and I have a question for #skystorians : What’s your favorite academic article (chapter, edited volume essay, etc) about non-European science in the early modern period? My 200-level “Scientific Revolution” survey could use a refresh.

I really feel sorry for the American mens' soccer team. Imagine working so hard to advance in the World Cup only to have your president decide you obviously aren't good enough, and try to game the system. Then to have the world shit on you because of it.

Soccer is a marvelous sport, and the idea of a world tournament where everyone competes with a common set of rules and goals is wonderful. FIFA allowing politics and power subvert the rules is shameful. But then they gave a warmonger a peace prize, so clearly they feel no shame.

While I wish Taylor Swift well in her marriage, I really have no interest in the "details" of her wedding. All that media hanging around for pics, whatever. But kudos to her and her fiancé for making all those big donations to worthy causes. Report on that.
