(say "Jillian Gertz") Illustration, authoring, graphic novels for kids, graphic recording, and friendship are my specialties. Creator of the Shirley & Jamila middle grade graphic novel series! gilliang.com

I designed and animated this poster for the very fun and cute band SPARKLE BLOOD (IG: @sparklebloodlovesyou). Their album release party is tonight so if you happen to be in Lethbridge, Alberta, you could see them there! If not, they are touring Canada, so let them come to you!

It's Anti-Prime Day, a fine time to remember this lovely review: "★ "Goerz spins a twisty mystery plot . . . [and] playfully subverts classic middle grade drama, depicting a deepening, expanding friendship among kids who ostensibly don’t have much in common" —Booklist bookshop.org/p/books/shir...

I read it! Daphne, thank you so much for your letter! I'm so glad you like my comics! A graphic novel murder mystery sounds like a great idea, although I'm honestly not very good at writing mysteries. You might want to check out Shirley & Jamila Save their Summer, which is a mystery.

If you have a kid who loves comics, loves to draw, loves to tell stories, (or if You, an adult do too), run out and buy this book. It's an amazing font of wisdom, couched in a great story, made by two of the industries true icons. (And lovely human beings) There's only winning here.

I know the world is on fire, but @scottmccloud.bsky.social and I have a book out today! THE CARTOONISTS CLUB is our love letter to comics, made for that nerdy kid in the corner with the sketchbook. We suggest you visit your local comic shop, indie bookstore, or library to check it out!
