These dogs were spotted taking a group photo in their Halloween costumes. We're impressed by the dog walker's dedication to getting the shot, but that ghost definitely wishes he could actually disappear. 14/10 for all (TT: franklinbarkzoo)

Finally at #CIAC2025! In a workshop all about how we figure out which squid populations are different species, esp. in challenging situations like the deep sea or when species are moving around with climate change. I am also answering the important question, how would a squid shake its ass???

Sarah has a page of notes with little squid doodles taking about “Fernando Alvarez is talking about cryptic biodiversity in his workshop, he’s saying that in some cases in these oceanic species we’ve said are cosmopolitan, are actually multiple species when you look genetically. Species who are currently separate lineages may soon overlap and interbreed thanks to climate change etc” On the right page it’s a bunch of dancing squid, one arguably slapping its own ass.

We come with receipts🧾 Tidal tails are cosmic “receipts” of galactic drama, showing who collided with whom. Rubin's camera is sharp enough to catch wind of even the faintest intergalactic tea. No need to worry about "pics or it didn't happen" with Rubin keeping a close eye 😎 🔭🧪
