The revolution will not be uploaded, downloaded or captured on video. It will not involve an app or require a Google account. The revolution will not be posted about on social media. The revolution will be real.
Also, renewables and EVs will NOT stop the rapid increase in heatwaves, droughts, wildires, floods, storms, coastal erosion, etc. Only ending fossil fuel emissions will stop them from getting much worse.
The missing words in the climate conversation are not human-caused climate change, but fossil fuel emissions. By Hayley Fowler and myself: theconversation.com/was-this-hea...
I work at a public library. People who want to use AI seem to have no trouble doing so. People who don't want to use AI have a harder time. I crowdsourced and then finalized this document "How to disable or avoid intrusive AI" and then gave it a short URL: notoai.org Please pass along if it's useful
A hero. A secular saint. The idea that she might be a terrorist is so ridiculous that it makes a mockery of the police, the law, the UK government and anybody else associated with this sorry farce.
Britain today: An elderly woman in a wheelchair is escorted away by the police and risks up to 14 years in prison for supporting terrorism since the Home Secretary proscribed a protest group in 2025. Her crime? She said: "I support Palestine Action and I encourage you to join".
Dr Anthony #Fauci has been awarded three prestigious Irish awards to honour his important work in the field of infectious diseases and immunology, and in recognition of his courage and integrity during the Covid19 pandemic. That he should be so persecuted in his own country is deeply shocking. 1/🧵

Free Marwan Barghouti. #FreeMarwanBarghouti
Whenever the apt analogy is drawn between South African Apartheid and Israeli Apartheid, cynics and doubters ask: If so, where is the Palestinian Nelson Mandela? The answer is: Languishing in prison, tortured and menaced around the clock for 24 endless years. His name? Marwan Barghouti.
Is there any difference between killing a man with a sword, and doing it with climate change? Or a woman or a child or that matter?
Mencius said to King Hui, "Is there any difference between killing a man with a sword, and doing it with a style of government?" (Mn. 1A.4)
i wrote a draft chapter on US and EU ESG/climate disclosure rules in the Biden years and its only now getting published and lol it just makes zero unsalvageable sense anymore

As nature collapses, the people who live closest to it are disrupted first. Meanwhile, the city people in air-conditioned rooms and offices who inhabit airports, malls and motorways - they hardly notice. "First Nations make up 5% of Canada's population and roughly 42% of its wildfire evacuees."
Over 800 wildfires are burning across Canada right now. Canada also holds more than a quarter of the world's boreal forest and is warming at twice the global average rate. The smoke is the part getting attention. Here is everything else. 🧵
Climate breakdown isn't just an environmental issue - it's fast becoming a national security crisis. Our major new investigative series with Caroline Lucas starts Friday, exclusively for TRIP + members.

Trump Media plans to charge trading firms for access to Trump’s Truth Social posts milliseconds before they appear publicly, the FT reports. The product, Truth API, is aimed at firms that rely on ultra-fast data to trade in markets that are often moved by those posts.
If you're down about the heat, smoke and climate change; If you're shaken by the wars, genocide and assaults on human rights; If you despair for democracy and the survival of truth and knowledge in a sea of ignorant nonsense; If you're sickened at the inequality, injustice and corruption; Remember
Just remember. However bad Trump’s Presidency is right now, it’s going to get worse in ways that are hard to imagine.
"No one wants to be the scientist who cried wolf. That aversion to predicting outcomes that may not happen has made us too ready to rule out those that could potentially take place. We can do better..." 👇
Why climate scientists need to talk more about the very worst-case scenarios and why uncertainty in what lies ahead is a spur for action and hope not despair and denial. My new article published today in @theconversation.com theconversation.com/why-climate-...

As we come to the end of the latest burst of warm weather what do Britons think about heatwaves? Asked at the end of the June heatwaves and climate, people's unsurprising top reaction was 'Hot' but that was followed by unbeatable, uncomfortable, worried, concerned and exhausted
“What is unfolding is what climate and forest scientists have been predicting for 30 years. That as the world gets hotter and drier, we are exposing forests to more and more risk, and the old strategies of fire suppression are simply being overwhelmed.”
Canada’s Forests Will Burn and Burn
Once a wildfire starts, it can spread to an area too massive to control.
