Feeling very smug about fact I bought a couple of cheap (£1) notebooks from "The Works" for my children to make holiday scrapbooks as a way to get them to practise writing. We've got an instant camera as well and they are taking a photo a day to stick in. Also getting them to send postcards.

I get that we need positive messages, too. In combination with facing the facts, that is. I don't think that fooling people with the fiction that we can prevent the climate situation getting worse (or even improve it) is helpful. It's dishonest. 4/
The nasty little thing with climate change is that the situation progressively gets worse as long as we emit greenhouse gases, and that is irreversible. So there's no happy message "Let's bring emissions to zero and then everything will be alright" Nope, everything will be worse than it is now. 1/

It's frustrating when people complain about the very, very few Irish bureaucratic things that are going really well. The Irish passport office is as speedy and efficient as you could hope for.
