El-Sayed: "If all Mike Rogers got is that 'his name is Abdul, and my name is Mike,' you're gonna be surprised how many people are like, 'Yeah, but that's the Abdul who wants to bring down the price of my groceries and make sure I got healthcare. So yeah, I like Abdul over your Mike from Florida.'"

A gracious concession: “I want to congratulate Abdul El-Sayed on winning the Democratic nomination for U.S. Senate. He is a doctor, a community health official, a Rhodes Scholar, and a dedicated Michigander. I am proud to offer my support as he takes on Mike Rogers in the general election…

El-Sayed: "My commitment to Jewish safety is the same commitment that I have to the safety of my own daughters. Because if there is one question of political philosophy that ought to animate us all, it's what would we do if we treated all our kids like they were all of our kids?"

We should take Trump’s threats to our elections seriously – but we shouldn’t let him scare us out of voting. In Michigan, we’ve made it easier and safer to vote. So find your polling place, sample ballot, and absentee and early voting info at Michigan.gov/vote - and make sure to vote by August 4th!

The establishment is rallying around a candidate who takes corporate PAC money - including from the company that sells tasers to ICE, toured a detention center, and gave an interview afterward praising the agents. They don’t get to decide who the nominee is - we do.

I’m proud to be endorsed by four US Senators: Welch, Heinrich, Murphy, and Warren - who know we need to fight and who aren’t afraid of using their power to make change. With your help, I’ll join them in the fight.

In 2008, American Axle workers sacrificed their wages to save the plant. 18 years later, shareholders have received $8.4 billion in profits — and wages for workers still haven't recovered. UAW Local 2093: We have your back. I will always stand in solidarity with our union workers.

“The pursuit of greater profits cannot justify choices that systematically sacrifice jobs, because the human person is an end, not a means, and the economic order must remain subordinate to human dignity and the common good.” -Pope Leo in #MagnificaHumanitas

The 1965 Voting Rights Act was landmark legislation to stop states from diluting the vote of minorities - most notably Black voters in the South who had been systematically disenfranchised. Last month, the US Supreme Court gutted it.

5 out of the 6 Supreme Court Justices who gutted the Voting Rights Act were nominated by a president who came into office having lost the popular vote. 70% of Americans support the John Lewis VRA. The Supreme Court is historically unpopular. It is not a democratically legitimate institution.
