I'm so pleased I can finally share my Antarctic Imperial Cormorant illustration for #PolarLights! This was a bird I knew little about before, but I quickly fell in love with their incredible colors and how they contrast against the vivid blue & white of the Antarctic landscape. 🎨 #SciArt #BirdArt 🪶

I very behind with fish art. Next Sunday 🤞 The #SundayFishSketch 🐡 family is kind of my social media home. Funny how fast the time goes. I met Jennifer back than on twitter. I remember too how I listened to the story of the Devil's Hole Pupfish ... falling in love with fishes.

#sciart One of the two pieces I entered into the SCMNH Art of Nature exhibition: the holotype mandible of the sea lion-like "double-tusked" walrus Dusignathus santacruzensis, found in ~6-7 myo rocks in Santa Cruz, CA. Watercolor and gouache, ~10x5". 🐡🐬🦖

Last night I attended the opening night of the Art of Nature exhibition at the Santa Cruz Museum of Natural History - two of my pieces showcasing local fossils from the Purisima Formation (Dusignathus, a walrus, and Herpetocetus, a dwarf baleen whale) were selected for the exhibit! #sciart 🐡

Yours truly standing next to the 'paleontologists corner' at the Art of Nature exhibit; there is a blue wall with several illustrations framed and on the wall, and a small display case showing some paleontological tools and fossils.
