I have been working this evening at uninstalling a wire shelf the builder put in my extra bedroom (my office) closet when this house was built around 20 years ago. These mounting bits are SATANIC. There is no logical way to remove them without them taking chunks out of your drywall.
Diablo IV is better than I initially gave it credit for. I still wish the colors were more vibrant overall, the game is way too muted... but the art style itself is gorgeous and proves yet again that low fidelity coupled with art direction drastically outweighs photorealism.
It’s so funny you can just buy THC at the grocery store and it changed basically nothing about society
Still mad about seeing the argument that "PC gaming is thriving." It's true, because you can't kill art. But statistically none of the 1000+ games released in a month will pay devs a living salary, because you *can* kill industry. To think this won't eventually hurt players is willfully ignorant.
People out here dropping literature and I'm going to go hard left: My favorite is Blindsight by Peter Watts. It's a novel about space vampires, aliens, and the evolutionary disadvantage that is consciousness. And it is *terrifying*.
What is your favorite English-language novel? (Free spaces for Middlemarch, Pride and Prejudice, and Moby Dick -- what else you got?)

Knowledge is power CEOs can't control, so they hate it.
If knowledge if power, why are game companies setting it alight?

If his idea is that people get votes based on paid income tax, then I am all for it, as rich people avoid paying income tax, and immigrants pay income tax without getting a vote. I don't think this is what he meant though. guillotines.png

Make sure you correctly attribute the layoffs at DoubleFine to Microsoft because this is the only outcome when an internal studio is cut loose with little warning.
I love that the Canadian government has decided to just start yelling about carbon capture as if it's even remotely plausible at scale, despite there never being any project that has succeeded at its promises.

Y'know the thing striking me about the "what did people think about anime in the 90s" conversation is that everyone's trying to collapse "anime outside of Japan" into a single experience, but the honest thing is it was really different depending where you were and who you knew

I spent my week on a lake. Touching grass is overrated. Touching water though? Can't be beat. Drinking morning coffee and afternoon beers on a dock kicks so much ass.
