I mean, this is trivially true re: climate change and appropriating capital gains through government funded mortgages, low interest rates, and financialization. The actual unspoken difference between his view and mine is what should replace the "high modern nation-state"

The “head of strategic futures” at OpenAI just went on an unhinged rant against social security sometimes I feel like these tech companies are actively trying to alienate as many normal people as possible

The main thing I have to say to the young generation of Americans is that your
grandparents and great-grandparents committed a kind of accounting fraud when they ran our country a century ago with social security, and at the time it was a reasonable affordance to grant our leaders, who were dealing with an economic depression and a world war, but nonetheless they did commit the fraud, and they ended up buying all sorts of extravagant things using the fraudulent gains, including what became the thing we now understand to be the high-modern technocratic nation-state, and that is glorious and also bad and all that, but the thing is there's still the issue about the accounting fraud, whose debt is coming due and is coming due fast.
It is best to consider this with as minimal residue of sentiment as possible, to really sit with it, to stare it coldly in the face.
Unwinding the great fraud of the high modernists is your job, whether you wish it to be or not.

It's so silly how what every conservative points to as "woke" tyranny they barely survived are examples of corporations running scared from the latest mass uprising, desperately falling over themselves to say whatever nonsense they think might placate the streets so their windows don't get busted.

Do not use Minneapolis organizers as the peaceful good example so you can smear the Prairieland defendants for their “violent” tactics. Alex Pretti was also armed. The MN 15 are being indicted for related tactics and strategy. So much is wrong with this piece, but that especially sticks in my craw.

Screenshot of text: The Prairieland activists decided to meet the administration on the field the administration picked and deliver them the fight the administration wanted. By contrast the ordinary citizens of Minneapolis, and their resolute nonviolence, even in the face of brutal murders committed by agents of the state, have done far more to change national opinion on the mass deportation machine. They chose not to give the administration the fight it wanted. They met physical force with soul force, as Dr. King put it. Forget about the morality. The tactic was effective.

"Their actions ensured that they struggled to achieve sympathetic media coverage outside of a few left-wing outlets, struggled to attract material or legal support (the ACLU, for instance, refused to touch the case), and failed to achieve positive virality in the larger culture."

I spoke to Lindsey Graham for 20 minutes today. He sounds active, wandering the untrod path, and wearing the chains he forged in life. He says the eternity of lonely darkness ahead doesn’t trouble him, because his folly blazes clear and the grim reminder will walk beside him always. Still sharp!

Recently went on a longer drive without smartphone navigation (just a paper atlas) and I was shocked to find out that roads and highways are pretty well-marked, and following road signs alone can get you most of the way there

Peter@notalawyer.bsky.social · 3mo ago

one thing that’s dying out in the next generation or so is knowing roads. my parents will ask me shit like “how’d you get there? 178? 232?” buddy i went where the computer told me.

This stuff looks incredibly sick until you realize that this tech always gets folded back into the military-industrial complex. I remember being pretty stoked about a startup (Saildrone) that built autonomous sailing ocean monitors, but now their only customer is the military

Inspired by diving birds, roboticists built the lightweight machines to move from water to air. The design may one day lead to robots that can monitor and sample the coastal ocean. n.pr/3R9lgaf

The Prairieland trial was not an isolated case. It was a test. Judge Reed O'Connor passed by railroading a bunch of people showing solidarity with detainees by handing them multi-decade prison sentences. Now the same judge will oversee a sham federal case attacking healthcare for trans people

Alejandra Caraballo@esqueer.net · 3mo ago

The FTC case against WPATH has been reassigned to Judge Reed O' Connor with no reason given. DOJ is starting to centralize all of their investigations under O'Connor in NDTX. The federal courts are a joke.

"So, should I have done nothing? Should I have looked the other way? Should I have just allowed yet another innocent person to be slaughtered. "Heaven forbid. Every life is worth as much as every other. Whatever is stolen from you is stolen from me."

please read this statement written by Benjamin "Champagne" Song and share as far and wide as you can: https://prairielanddefendants.com/defendant-writings/statement-by-benjamin-champagne-song/

They will jail you for most of your life for going to a noise demo outside of a concentration camp. Decades in prison for protesting. Our only choice is to build a massive social movement that frees all the prisoners, both the ones sentenced today and the ones in Prairieland. We owe it to them.

Federal sentencing has started. Zachary Evetts was just sentenced to 50 years by Chief District Judge Reed O'Connor. Maricela Rueda was just sentenced to 840 months / 70 years by Judge Mark Pittman.

Maybe optimistic of me but I think Trump is gonna keep most of this slush fund money for himself and the J6ers will get stiffed. They're gonna be the equivalent of the rubes who bought Iraqi dinar under GWB, reduced to spending their days on Truth Social begging him for a handout

It's pretty funny that the Iranian government's media team is savvy enough to know that US Americans love calling things false flags. Honestly probably one of the most embarrassing things about this country right now
