reminder that you miss 100% of the shots you dont take
didn't set my aiming sensitivity before this and ended up with the most absurd shot i've ever made in my life
Everyone should play Lurruna's EX mode btw, it massively ramps up enemy counts, respawning enemies, enemy speeds & boss attacks making the game truly feel like a run n gun Can unlock it if you hold left + press charge bomb, then by holding charge bomb in the main menu
I'm trembling while writing this: Kamaitachi no yoru—not the PC remake, not the iOS port, but the actual original SFC version—has been translated at last by ButThouMust, who graciously brought us an English patch for Otogirisou in the past. This is HISTORICAL.
GAMER YANG WEN-LI: So when you level up, you get +1 ATK, and you feel like you could win any battle. But you also start encountering enemies who have +1 DEF, so everything is the same. And it's been that way for the whole long history of gaming. Gamers have yet to try another way, for all our talk.
that one time you are awake during daylight but the rest of your degenerate night owl coworkers are out dont ever try to fix your sleep schedule
gonna start calling everything i want “quality of life.” having a second beer is actually quality of life. cute girls laughing at my jokes and giving me a little kiss is quality of life
i like when the funny safe spot is at the big guy's feet
It makes people think about game skill as something more like talent, it makes them doubt their own ability to improve and stops them from engaging with games they might have otherwise, or on the other end it makes ppl over-focus on carryover skills and become entitled to getting *those* tested
One of the most consistently damaging thought patterns among players is treating skill level as static and games as exams rather than something more like instruments. You walk in with whatever skills you had, you get tested & graded and you walk out. It leads to *a lot* of negative trends

this year i finished at least one version of every currently canon ys game. i like these games quite a lot
my fun tin foil theory about tokon is that some people at sony hated that a pc beta was happening at all and had it sabotaged so that no one would want to play it even if it was cracked. or even if it worked at all
Years in the making, I finally have a working prototype of my Camera GBD-M2 (previously shared as Game Boy Camera M2). A sequel to the Game Boy Camera M1, this new redesign uses original Game Boy Pocket & Game Boy Camera chips into a camera-like shape roughly the same size as the Ricoh GR III.
its been same as the emotion i get from harrison ford
I genuinely get depressed whenever I think about this. We were so close to games just being a regular Medium like books or movies, where there's kids' stuff and adult stuff and everything in between, but the brands market-segmented themselves into a gendered niche that we still haven't truly escaped
Also want to add how Western publishers neglected for the longest time to make their game soundtracks known (f.e. through album releases). You got a Western tribute album like this that knows famous Japanese game tunes from the 90s, but struggled to think of a Western game song older than five years
i think one of the biggest underlinings in just how bad the western industry has been about its own legacy is like. myst isnt just an old game. it was final fantasy vii before final fantasy vii. it was that fucking huge.
I hate how new fighting games keep adding more buttons dude stop it
Difficulty sliders don't feel nearly as out of place in games with an extremely freeform loose structure & progression like really open ended sandbox/creative games. But games pick & choose in a really weird way - progression is the holy cow, challenge + mechanical integrity are disposable
Gotta rewatch this clip every time I'm experiencing paralysis cuz of crappy looking assets in my game to remind myself that an official SEGA game did this. You can release anything.
Put another way, the entire adult userbase is going to have to upload their IDs to sketchy third-party companies and link their identities to their online activity to stop a few dozen kids from accessing a platform that is mainly left-leaning news and commentary. What problem is this solving?
BREAKING: U.K. reveals Bluesky will be included in the under-16 social media ban, affecting dozens of teens.
This one that someone showed me when I asked is my personal demon though. What do you mean
