Instead of working through your #TBRpile online, why not call into your local indie bookshop this weekend and get talking to some fellow book lovers, maybe even take a chance on their latest recommendation? Take a page out of Kurt Vonnegut's book, don't let the computers do us out of that.

Had the most brilliant bookshop experience today at The Gutter bookshop on Cow's Lane Helpful, unforced bookish transaction that left me with books, recommendations for future reads a warm glow of cultural wellbeing I'm certain the author of my two buys would approve Chapeau Gutter books

I'm not sure about you, but I think the collapse of US hegemony, a global price spike and recession, and a new ground war in the Middle East are far worse than drag queens reading books at the library.

Oh this is sad, Liam was programmer for Dublin Lit Festival / @ilfdublin.bsky.social when he asked @gutterbookshop.bsky.social to become official festival booksellers back in 2010. He was funny, engaged, dedicated and an absolute joy to work with. A sad loss to Ireland & UK's literary community.
