Learning Greek. In today lesson, we did telling the time. I had to say “8 minutes past 2” in Greek. So, I laboriously said οκτώ λεπτά μετά τις δύο. The (Cretan) teacher explains you didn’t need to be so precise - just say 10 past 2. I love this place - they don’t sweat the small stuff.

For most of my adult life, I’ve had paracetamol close to hand - always had a packet by the bed available for morning headaches. Sometimes, took a preventative paracetamol before sleeping. For the last two years I haven’t had a single headache. Not one. I gave up alcohol in August 2024.
The picture on the front of Reform's policy is of HMS Ocean on the River Thames in 2012. It was sold by to the Brazilian navy in 2018. Turns out you can judge a book by its cover.
Fondly remembering the last time a Swiss national was in charge of FIFA (Sepp Blatter) and he took bribes and groped female footballers.

The environmental damage caused by Trump’s war in the Middle East and Putin’s war in Ukraine must be beyond belief. As well as being a waste of money. And killing people.

Nigel Farage called a by-election against a bin to run away from unanswered questions, but the net is closing in. Grubby pacts, cover-ups, secret gifts, support from a convicted fraudster – it all adds up to a stench of sleaze. The public can smell it. www.theguardian.com/politics/202...

Nigel Farage struck a secret deal to return as Reform leader months before the election, and showed it to the treasurer in May 2024.So the man who claimed he “wasn’t involved in politics” and therefore didn’t need to declare gifts was already cutting leadership deals behind the scenes.😆
One obvious yet rarely spoken point about the FIFA fiasco is that much more money should be put into development of the game in Africa - a continent full of football-crazy people with no access to decent facilities.

Ceuta is on the African mainland. It’s over 50km from Gibraltar. Unless these Moroccans are long distance swimmers, their only way of getting there is by boat. Sure the Spanish are up to stopping that 🙄
Austria's Minister for Europe and Integration, Claudia Bauer, has supported excluding Spain from the Schengen Area, stating that the situation in Ceuta puts the EU's credibility at risk and that border measures must be reinforced to ensure security on European soil.

Gianni Infantino has dragged football's reputation through the mud. Now he's selling off FIFA's rotting husk to the highest bidder. It's time to give Infantino the red card and build a new global footballing body built on accountability and transparency that puts fans first.
