Asking her if she would be able to ask the server what the “pup seasoning” in the dog meal is—a normal question that a normal person could conceivably ask for normal reasons—without giving herself away. And she says, no, there’s no way she could. Not with the collar on.

Same for the story, also. It’s both: —At atmospheric and surreal homage to the 19th century horror book The King In Yellow —The most Videogames treatment possible of a straight man whose only visible motivation is obsession with an offscreen woman So, you know, it depends on what’s important to you

Boss 2 down (1-shot 💪🏽). Man, Saros and Returnal are so weird. A kind of…semi-rogue structure that…does it make sense actually? Some upgrades and stats and whatnot that are, like, fine? Run variance but just…a little? And then shooting and dodging and enemies that you can’t stop going back to again.

A few mins late clicking on a work meeting because I was in the middle of the first major boss of Saros. Eveything turned out fine though. I won.

Whenever something similar to this (player-perceived power being a one-way ratchet) came up on WoW, I called it "the flying problem". Basically, whatever new thing you want to try or change you want to accomplish, players can't be less able to fly than they were in 2007.

There’s a trap that happens to early access games, which is that making any element harder spawns enormous backlash. Famous example is Darkest Dungeon. I’d kind of imagined STS2 would be immune to this, but I suppose I don’t know why exactly I thought so. youtu.be/Os5uLJbcDP8?...
