As much as this fool deserves to be pilloried for his absolutely absurd statement, and it says something about Reform’s idiocy, why is this the top story on the Guardian site? They aren’t in a position to create policy, and probably never will be, so why are we treating anything they say seriously?

I love the World Cup because it lets you see the unique cultures of nations expressed through football, like Germany's ruthless efficiency, Brazil's beautiful dance, Spain's style and flair, France's total collapse in the face of slight adversity, and Italy's rich ancient history.
