Your level of expectations of someone you have power over will often lead to a similar level of performance for that person (think teachers, coaches, bosses, etc) . If you expect them to do well, they do well. If you expect them to do poorly, they do poorly. It's called the Pygmalion effect.

This is the sort of story that Bluesky mostly seems to ignore but I guarantee has large political ramifications in real life. Rural America is getting hosed by this administration from all sorts of angles and that won't go unnoticed. MAGA's understanding of "rural" is an exurban poser.
