Midwestern writer, movie watcher, perv about town. He/him. Here as mental health allows, but don't count on it. Trans himbo. Writing lives on my site: https://thisisharmonwest.ghost.io/. I don't DM but I do reply to Venmo @harmcoxrules.

I guess I shouldn't be surprised that the bargain-priced indie theater screening of the new Gregg Araki is packed with queer folks, but it is a pleasant surprise to not be the only one of me in a room sometimes

This is one of the peculiarities of being "allied" with people who don't know or care about you. If i have an issue with a trans woman, i handle it privately because i know that if it gets discussed publicly they're going to get dogpiled by jerks. If you know trans people, you know this!!!

Ken Jennings is not a trans ally, because if he actually talked to and cared about trans people he would have known exactly how bad it was going to be for that woman he put on blast. He's either ignorant or he knew what he was doing.

To be visibly trans right now is to again and again surface from an endless depth of cold, murky water; it would be easier to let go and drown and never be seen again, but you cannot forget that someone on the shore is waiting for you.

Going through old photography today. Delighted to see myself evolve and grow confident. Less weird tricks and filters, more earnest self-photography. I can't be shy because I'm a fat trans dude and other fat trans dudes need to see me now in the same way I needed to see them a long time ago.

a fat trans dude reclines on a bed, regarding the Protect and Survive logo over his shoulder. everything is lit in blue. he looks calm, almost bemused by the apocalyptic psa. it's not perfect, but it's getting there.

These funds will let me stay alive and continue working on the zine press, the film series, and my various writing projects. I would like to invest in a nice guillotine and some other printing and binding tools. One of my remaining molars is cracked and needs an expensive crown. Shit like that.

I don't make any money off the zine press, the film series, my organizing work, my own writing, or really anything else. If you've benefited from my work, or if you just think it's cool, consider helping me out. I need $10,000 to live. www.gofundme.com/f/i-need-100...

As a trans person i am actually happy that i can no longer talk to people who love Harry Potter and Jeopardy and NYT puff pieces, because all that stuff is boring as shit. If i wanted to spend my life among dull adult children with dissapointing hobbies, i would have remained an alcoholic in Ohio.

whether somebody has Hate in their Heart or not when they try to make sure we can’t play sports or piss in public has zero fucking impact on the outcome. your heart is between you and your god. shut up and leave us alone, you pollyanna fucking freaks

i don’t give a tin shit about the Good Faith of people who want trans people to live as second-class citizens. the state of their souls is fucking irrelevant

I should clarify that there was actually a lot i liked in OBSESSION. Great performances, a good bleak horror story with real stakes and brutal imagery. It was still really cartoony and an hour too long, so Tales would have done a great job with it!

Grunkle Harm@harmonwest.bsky.social · 6d ago

I'm actually kinda sad that OBSESSION was not an episode of Tales from the Crypt, or even Masters of Horror. Give that turkey to Joe Dante and give him 42 minutes and a couple gallons of fake blood, you got a stew baby!

A funny part of spending time with straight people is that they do not understand why I, a 400lb transmasc anarchist with a face for radio, have zero interest in traditional publishing. I would swallow a ball bearing before i said "unalive" in any professional capacity. All of my heroes died poor.

On a weekend trip with my Dad, and the most difficult part so far is remembering that he is not used to my casual shirtlessness because he still applies Girl Law to me on a subconscious level He is 70 years old and doing his best, i am not mad at him, it's just humid as fuck and i hate sleeves

Every time an aspiring writer describes their "AI process," it sounds like a real pain in the ass. "I feed ideas into Bloop and give the result to Bleepbop and rewrite the secondary gunk it excretes for Amazon." Exhausting! Just mash your favorite words together and read them to your friends. Damn.
