Time to go! Had a blast. Happy reading, everyone! #ewgc

Thought there was nothing new to learn about the sinking of of the Titanic? Think again. DEAD IN THE WATER: THE LOST PASSENGERS OF THE TITANIC by Caitlin Doughty was fascinating. One of the my favorite non-fiction books of the decade. @wwnortonlibrary.bsky.social #ewgc
A women's basketball phenom in trouble turns to Glory Broussard for help. Smart move. I love everything about DREAMS OF GLORY - setting, characters, the insights into sports gambling, & spending time in the company of the incomparable Glory. #ewgc @ssedlib.bsky.social @brooklynzydeco.bsky.social
Cruising into #ewgc listening to Van Morrison sing Tupelo Honey. Perfect music for my mood.
Just registered for LJ DoD on October 22. Anyone else attending? #ewgc
Talking books at #ewgc was the perfect way to stay cool on a hot day. So many great recommendations! Until we meet again.
How lucky am I to have gotten my hands on an advance copy of SAME RIVER TWICE by Wiley Cash? Halfway done, coming here to recommend it is the only reason I'm not reading it right now! @librarylovefest.bsky.social #ewgc 💙📚
One of my favorite mystery series has a new book due early next year and it's a humdinger! A CASE OF FEAR AND FAVOR by Sally Smith brings back Gabriel Ward to solve another mysterious death, this one in the hushed rooms of the library of the Inner Temple. @macmillanlib.bsky.social #ewgc 💙📚
@tressiemcphd.bsky.social on why we must defend public libraries: “There is a reason the culture warriors hate the library. It is the same reason that Americans should defend it with our rights. No political spin doctor can sell us what is freely given at one: the right to think for ourselves.”
I am informed that Larry is AI and have deleted. I despise that people are ruining fun.
Lovely interview with Mick Herron. What will be the fate of Jackson Lamb? Stay tuned. Hope the article is not paywalled, apologies if so. observer.co.uk/news/nationa...

Finally made it to Word on the Water book barge on London’s Regent’s Canal. Small but choice selection of books, we found two to take home.
It wasn't easy but we still talked books today at #ewgc. Hope the issues with hashtags have been worked out by the time our February chat rolls around. Until then, happy reading everyone!
The DC Smith/Kings Lake Investigation series by Peter Grainger is a self published smash. I am a big fan and very excited that @hachettelibrary.bsky.social has plans to make the whole series available in print. Hoping to see a drc of the latest, SOME SORT OF JUSTICE. #ewgc 💙📚
Hey GalleyChatters, if you're trying to follow #ewgc - apparently, the Bluesky search is not working and is a few hours behind. If you follow me, please RT this so we get the word out.
Jane Harper is back with LAST ONE OUT. I think it will divide her fans. It's a slow burn, atmospheric read and I ended up in the pro column but there were moments I wished it would move a little faster. #ewgc
THE KEEPER by Tana French -- I don't how she does it, but she makes conversation between drunk old men in a small town Irish pub white knuckle, page-turning reading. I love the Cal Hooper books, each one is better than the last. #ewgc @prhlibrary.bsky.social 💙📚
WHISTLER by Ann Patchett. Those four words say it all. Expect huge demand. BEL CANTO has long been my favorite of all her novels I've read, but this one really gave it a run for money. It is my favorite cover. #ewgc librarylovefest.bsky.social 💙📚
I have several posts scheduled for #ewgc today. We're later than usual in the month, will be interesting to see if that affects attendance. I hope not, I need some recommendations and this group is the best at that.💙📚
What a relief to know I can continue to name favorite books from this year. 10 slots were not enough!
Tomorrow morning I'll share the most mentioned titles as well as the full spreadsheet of everyone's recommendations! Very excited to see what lands on top. #LibFaves25 Also, starting tomorrow, feel free to use the hashtag to share your honorable mention titles that didn't quite make your top 10!
WILD DARK SHORE by Charlotte McConaghy is my last #LibFaves25. How do we build trust & work together to save what we can when our world is falling apart? Stunning descriptions of nature & complex, flawed characters make this a bk that will stay with me a long time. #ewgc @macmillanlib.bsky.social 💙📚
Only two slots left, the struggle to make our final choices is real!
Good morning #library folks! There's two more days for #librarians & #library staff to post your favorite #books of 2025 using hashtag #libfaves25 with TITLE IN CAPS. I'll be your friendly neighborhood monitor today. 😀 #booksky 📚
CLOWN TOWN by Mick Herron, #LibFaves25 day 9. A fave author, fave series, already read it twice. The Slow Horses cable series is good but, all together now - the books are even better! The audio versions narrated by Gerard Doyle are also outstanding. @sohopress.bsky.social @prhlibrary.bsky.social 💙📚
Fans of Richard Russo & Fredrik Backman will love I SEE YOU'VE CALLED IN DEAD by John Kenney. Bud Stanley is a man who thinks he wants to give up, but w/help from friends, stumbles on. One of the funniest opening chapters I've ever read. Great bk club choice. #LibFaves25 Day 8 💙📚
