If you're a new writer and wanting to level up your skills, please don't turn to AI as a beta reader. Join a writers group - either locally or online. Swap stories with other new writers. Get into those deep conversations about craft. You'll learn so much more that way.

My poem "Mothercraft," published in Haven Magazine, was torn apart by a poetry podcast bro. He said that my poem, referencing Frankenstein, voodoo, witchcraft, and Literal Physical Childbirth, was too violent and bloody to accurately portray "the inherent softness of females, especially mothers."

If you see this, please tell me the worst/most baffling bit of creative feedback you've ever recieved. Mine is still the time somebody told me my aliens had names that were too alien. Not that they were unpronounceable, just that they didn't sound enough like human names.
