they/them - talk to me about TV idents and a certain unfortunate Doctor Who companion

It’s even more egregious than that. The fact that it’s a child companion is one thing. The fact that 5’s speech at the start implies that we shouldn’t mourn people who ”choose” to die elevates it from bad to somewhat scummy.

Oh, it happened earlier under Davison. Earthshock to Time-Flight. "A child companion just died. Oh well, let's go have a fun day out!" One of the most godawful episodes, based around the writer hoping to score a free flight on the Concorde.

Did this month by accident, but The Chase is a hilarious story to watch with friends. You simply couldn’t make it today; Daleks getting outwitted by makeshift traps, getting beaten up by Frankenstein, and generally leaving people in their vicinity alive (how nice of them!)

This month's challenge - A story where the TARDIS travels during the story

The Doctor messes around with the laws of time travel so much these days, crossing timelines, creating paradoxes and so on, that he should just say "Fuck it, I'm rescuing Adric".

#minimalmonday #poetry We live with mystery, but we don't like the feeling. I think we should get used to it. We feel we have to know what things mean, to be on top of this and that. I don't think it's human, you know, to be that competent at life. That attitude is far from poetry. —Mark Strand

A path in the dunes with beach grass on each side leading to a bench overlooking Lake Michigan. The sky is thick with gray clouds but a bit of distant sun illuminates the sand.
