The android mobile game ad system should be illegal lmao so many of the ads make it seem like you are trapped into clicking into it when really you just have to wait for either a low contrast "next" or close icon to finally appear (and repeat maybe three times)
I think the only thing good about AI has been that it's made me so disgusted by the tech world that I've left off from making it my whole personality anymore.
Im sorry but if you get to the front of the donut line and ask about every specialty donut then order a classic braid, we can't be friends.
I'm not super keen on sharing generic accessibility metrics (percentage of issues/violation counts/etc) as some sort of "look how good we're doing" but I do still like watching number go up (in the good way) after we fix issues.
I feel like it's been weeks of either it's raining or it's too hot to do work outside in the yard OR too hot to do work inside our mostly un-air-conditioned apartment (we just run the window unit in our bedroom for sleeping). I would like some calm weather.
Was just talking with a friend about how jeans, a red checked button down shirt and a newspaper from that day is an easy dead Mitch McConnell Halloween costume and now she sends me this:
working on my web site will solve my problems working on my web site will solve my problems working on my web site will solve my problems
Tried to tell someone at a bar last night about Lord of the Rings Online so now I won't be leaving my house for a while.
We’ve been all over Southeast Wisconsin talking to voters, building people power, and helping get Francesca Hong across the finish line on August 11. 💥 Ready to elect the first Democratic Socialist Governor in U.S. history? @francescahongwi.bsky.social
I would happily take lower budget episodes if we got more episodes per season or longer seasons again for TV shows.

One of Dungeons & Dragons’ partners has seemingly accidentally leaked a major announcement ahead of a Gen Con panel planned for next week. Roll20 briefly posted a blog post on their website, which has...

I opened up a new design draft in Figma today and it auto opened to the chat/agent panel and PLEASE. I just want to place a few rectangles. Please don't.
AI company recruiting messages are wild. They'll be like "we specialize in agents for real estate AND health care!" why the fuck. you mean I could help make the housing crisis in this country worse AND tell people the wrong advice for their health? Oh goody!! Sign me up!!!
lmao, ok a very local thing but, the lady that stole over $4k in rugs thought she was stooping them? They really need to teach people etiquette. There is like an epidemic of white ladies stealing people's things because of cute Instagram posts.
If you’re an accessibility advocate, the way to handle this right now might be to shift your role at work or how it’s handled. Beyond that though, this only furthers my resolve to advocate outside of work. We need to remove this regime, then to get better regulations, protections, and enforcement.
I told someone recently that anyone doing accessibility work in America has been punished by our government. And I’ve gotten some “idk about that” But the thing is they banned the word accessibility and then they defunded and laid off people doing this work. Now accessibility has to be hidden

A reminder that UC _faculty_ and Faculty Associations — not the universities themselves nor their administrators — are waging this battle in court, demonstrating great bravery and moral clarity.
I feel like if you are told you can use AI tools to assist with writing your self-performance review, you deserve to know what AI tools they are using to calibrate/review it.
Over the past month, New York has welcomed the world. From neighborhood watch parties to the stadium, we’ve celebrated the communities that make our city the global capital of the beautiful game. Today, we close out a historic World Cup, proud of how New Yorkers showed up every step of the way.
I like when book authors add a little message in the beginning and I want to do that for my website besides my stupid little "hi im Heather" intro.
We already have a trend of "buttons no longer look like buttons" and I see the designers have latched onto the "textareas also no longer look like textareas because thats what so-and-so's chat prompt does so we should do it too" thing also, ok cool.
This article had a huge spike lately for whatever reaaon and hey it's still true. heather-buchel.com/blog/2023/09...
We're still not innovating with AI-generated UI.
We continue to not solve the same problems that we largely conjured out of no where.
