This is no joke, as a Detroiter waking up on vacation I just came to Bluesky to find out who had won and the first few headlines had me convinced Stevens had. Meanwhile the DSA candidate for our state rep, Chris Gilmore-Hill, beat an incumbent so I’d love that to make the narrative.

The media's takeaway from an El-Sayed win is the same as it would have been from a Stevens win, and the same as it will be if El-Sayed wins the general, or if he loses it: everyone, no matter who they are, needs to take several steps to the right.

They do love this Schrodinger's Left thing where the left is simultaneously too small and insignificant to care about appealing to, but simultaneously powerful enough to single-handedly scapegoat for election losses.

Pete Davidson should have just said he had to do the Riyadh comedy festival so he could afford to cover up all his Harry Potter tattoos. I decided to throw away any HP books I still had last year only to go and look for them and realize ... I tossed 'em in the trash eons ago and simply forgot.

Very glad that on accident we booked a family trip to P.R. starting August 4th, Michigan primary day so I won’t just be watching returns come in. We’ve early voted and now on Tuesday my biggest concerns will be getting from the San Juan airport to our first hotel and what my first cocktail will be.

Michigan school board official Angie Smith says she’s supporting Haley Stevens because she thinks Stevens will represent everyone and “not just one race." "Don’t come out speaking only Arabic, don’t come out with your Arabic music on.” Video from reporter Sam Robinson:

This is so racist, El-Sayed and Stevens were born in the same Michigan town, Rochester Hills, roughly a year apart. I guess the Wall Street Journal thinks only white people can be Michiganders? What is this “only white peoples are citizens” Dred Scott era logic???

What the fuck?? “While Mr. El-Sayed is fringy and radical, he’s also a Muslim man. Ms. Stevens is a white woman. This puts her at a disadvantage in the identity Olympics that internal Democratic Party politics have become.” www.wsj.com/opinion/free...

Maybe it’s a good thing these antlers were on the other side of a fence cause they would have been awkward to hold while jogging the remaining 1.5 miles home. Also saw a deer nearby, because I chose the route that avoids the wild turkeys, Detroit is a sylvan safari this time of year.
