A couple of months ago, Lewisham voted in it's first Green mayor and council. Feels like yesterday, and a lifetime ago! I've written up some thoughts on what it was like to get involved, do more and more organising, and for it to all culminate in becoming one of 40 Green councillors in the borough.

Reflecting on the grassroots campaign that turned Lewisham Green

It’s been a bit of a weird time this last few months. It started as a “better do something about how bleak the future’s looking, shall we go to a member’s meeting” bet…

Before we unintentionally won by a landslide in Lewisham we were incredibly proud of the fact that we'd forced Labour out on the streets to listen and engage with people who's votes they'd taken for granted for much of the last 55 years. We shouldn't be heading back to that place anywhere.

Today's ruling on the EHRC's interim guidance is a disappointing, confusing and mixed picture. A trans woman who is a customer in a café can use the women's toilets, but if she works there she might not be able to. Once again everyday life is being made a legal labyrinth for trans people.

The High Court has ruled on our challenge to the EHRC’s interim guidance. The judgment contains some good news for trans rights – but plenty of bad. Read our analysis goodlawproject.org/update/high-...

So, at my place of work, there is not difference in toilet use between staff and students toilet use. But now trans students can use the correctly-gendered toilets, but not trans staff. Ridiculous!

Ladbrokes are very clear, Labour are now rank outsiders in the Gorton and Denton by-election. It’s between the Greens and the fascists. A Labour vote will let Reform in, a Labour vote is a Reform vote.

Greens - 1/3 (75%)
Reform UK - 3/1 (25%)
Labour - 10/1 (9%)
200/1 bar

On #BBCQT - Fiona Bruce said that the audience and public didn't want to press Reform UK on their dodgy links to Russia. I disagree. RT if you agree it's in the public interest for Reform to explain about their links to Russian money and bribery!

Leading a political party means leading the political conversation - being available and being heard on the platforms people actually use. Join me every Wednesday on my new podcast: Bold Politics. The only podcast led by a current party leader in the UK. Link in bio.

I guess does anyone need anyone to write a thing about idk literally fucking anything at this point but I particularly know about science-y stuff and cars so like synthetic fuel bollocks and batteries and wire harnesses and such. honestly want to die but I guess we have to crack on

Look at how far the UK has tumbled, we're featuring alongside DRC, Syria, Haiti, etc. in the Lemkin Institute's Genocide News podcast. Those are some very troubled parts of the world. I don't have to heart to listen to the episode, but this synopsis is shocking to see in black and white

A LinkedIn post by Lemkin Institute for Genocide Prevention, which reads:
Tune in for a new episode of our podcast Genocide News Now to stay up to date with conflict around the world. This month's episode features developments in Balochistan, Haiti, Kenya, the Democratic Republic of Congo, the UK, and Syria.

it is very heartbreaking to me, as someone who grew up under Section 28 and saw things get so much better, briefly, on a trajectory where I really thought things would change (like an idiot) that now Amnesty International is campaigning in the UK for LGBTQ+ rights. how absolutely fucked can you be
