Muddy Buddies🌱✨ 10x10" #watercolour and acrylic on rag paper between glass, finished with solder, patina, found glass and linen thread commissioned and completed in 2023

a watercolour painting on hand cut rag paper, framed in between two pieces of glass and soldered at the edges. The painting is a bullfrog and a rain frog sharing some spa time on a mossy log. The bullfrog pours a ladle-full of grey, pudding-like mud over the rain frog as the rain frog closes their eyes in bliss. There is glistening mud everywhere. The frame is in a diagonal arrangement and has little bits of found glass shards decorating the edges. It hangs from vintage rust coloured flax cord.

The painting of the buddies again, but against a paving stone background, to highlight the transparency of the glass.

A close up on the bullfrog, covered in globs of mud. A brassy sun hangs low behind them. The bullfrog lifts the long handle of a ladle with one hand and a curved leaf in the other. They use the leaf to smooth mud on the rainfrog as the rainfrog smiles on.

A close up on the rainfrog sitting on the plush moss. Their skin is patterned with mottled brown with little light spots: like many little stars in space. The rainfrog smiles with their eyes peacefully closed.

Hi! My name is Armony (they/them). I am a scientific illustrator doing tattoos since 2017. I love etching, carving and relief-printing, and topics of fauna/flora, fantasy/DnD and anatomy. Find me at Patchwork Art Studio and browse my online portfolio here: venue.ink/@hello_wasp

A portrait of Armony. They are standing in front of indoor plants, wearing a black shirt and floral pants.

Photo of a fresh tattoo. The design is a symmetrical deer antler piece, with overgrown leaves wrapping from the chest over the collar bones and neck area.

Photo of a healed tattoo. The two lower legs of the person are covered with nature elements: an owl, squirrel skull, multiple plants and mushrooms, a living squirrel, blueberries and pine trees.

Photo of healed tattoos. The person's forearms are covered with botanical illustrations, one of an apple, the other of a fig branch. The shapes are completing each other.

What 4h of carving can get you. Cannot wait to try them out on Monday’s printing session with @dwam.bsky.social #vancouvertattooartist #queertattooartist #vancouver #transtattooartist #craft #linocut #lino

A photo of a pink linoleum bloc. On it are pencil drawings of two crows, various blades, two figs and a frog climbing mushrooms. Nothing is carved yet.

A photo of the same designs as before but completely carved, each design cut out of the main bloc. It also shows two crowns that have been cut from the left over linoleum. You can see the little cutouts bits in a box in the corner.

Custom herons and sword back ornament for G. ✨ Loved using the background for negative space! Done at Patchwork Art Studio #yvrtattoo #vancouvertattoo #backtattoo #tattoosky #blackworktattoo #etchingtattoo #birdtattoo #herontattoo #swordtattoo

A photo showing the fresh back tattoo. Two herons are flying on either side of the spine. At the center, a sword is cutting a rope attached to their leg. The birds are flying in front of a oceanic/forest landscape.

A zoomed view of the details of the heron and landscape.
