#Crew96 OSU Alum 2016

#Crew96 After driving home from that game, I think expectations have to be USOC focused. Playoffs aren’t happening. FCC and Miami are going to blow their doors off and it’ll be 0 of 9 points out of the break. May as well use those games to set up for USOC and 2027’s sprint.

As bad as this looks, hard to take anything from this game on form / how the team is going forward since there are maybe 4-5 future starters on the field at most? But it’s unfortunate with the table and with FCC coming in to blow their doors off Saturday. #Crew96

A Swiss-headquartered international organization hired an Englishman to plan a halftime show featuring performers from Korea, Canada and Colombia for a soccer game between Spain and Argentina Here’s what that tells us about American sports

Do Americans actually like sport? They seem to feel there must always be something else going on to keep you engaged. Most fans just want the game to restart. We’re capable of enjoying the break.

Can’t decide what’s worse - the halftime show (which WAS awful) or the Europeans watching complaining about the halftime show “Oh no! The players were gone for 25 minutes instead of 15! It’s a crime!!!”

I get everyone is extra sensitive about VAR right now but baffled by the anger at the Norway goal being ruled out. Haaland shoved his arms all the way out, no way it’s not getting called I admit it completely sucks that happened after VAR missed the cable.

For a very fun World Cup, the quarterfinal bracket is kind of gross. 6 out of 8 from Europe. Only 2 games at best look remotely interesting? Hope I’m talking 4 classics into existence.

I can’t get past how on pure talent the USMNT is so much better than it used to be but because of that laid egg last night where almost every player gave their worst performance in months, literally millions of people think they are actually no-talent losers. Shit sucks!

My family and friends don't watch soccer. They watched the USMNT at this World Cup. The same is true for so many people in the United States. Their lasting impression will be a team that never once looked like they could hang with Belgium. What an unbelievable shame.

It’s weird to see people reacting to this loss as if the problem was the USMNT talent wasn’t good enough and not that the good players played like flaming piles of dog doo doo.

I’ll go to my grave, I think, believing that 36 hours of Balogun insanity fucked with this team’s makeup. Which at the end of the day is no more than they deserve and is also an indictment of that makeup.

🇺🇸 For a tournament that started with so much promise, the United States journey at the World Cup ends exactly where it did in 2022, 2014 and 2010: The round of 16. This loss, unlike the others, was an ass-whooping. At a home World Cup... this is a disappointment.

No shame in losing this game. A lot of shame in how they did tonight. Not up for the moment. Undid most of the good will from this tourney. Think it’s still a net positive because of the popularity of the tourney. But MLS will not want to advertise this one!
