dye lair things: been processing about a pound of plundered rudbeckia for the last three days and i sure hope it turns out nice!!!!!!!! because they grow fuckin everywhere!!!!!!

Not to soap box about this but i feel that ppl in the english indie comics space should hear it: creating doujinshi/self published comics without the stamp of a prestigious fair or an indie publisher does not make you any less of a comic artist. drawing comics makes you a comic artist.

Finished this quilt wall hanging yesterday 👏🏽 this is hand painted with ferrous and alum based pastes, then dyed with natural pigments mostly from pomegranate and madder. Borders are overdyed knotweed. The binding is osage modded with iron and the backing is… uh… maybe wattle overdyed with madder?
More gouache practice :P restricting myself to only use primary colors + white and black for all my mixing… with a teeny bit of prussian blue
