We are projected to spend $268 BILLION on deportations — costing the average American taxpayer about $2,358 (according to @epi.org). But somehow we “can’t afford” to make sure hungry children can eat or ensure everyone, no matter their income, can access healthcare. Priorities.
Apparently ICE arrests are at an all-time high and I'm guessing they've managed that by decentralizing. Focus on a specific urban area, and you get a lot of targeted resistance. Anyway, helpful reminder that ICE are literally everywhere and we should all be watching out for our neighbors.

I don't know who needs to hear this, but an economy controlled by a handful of oligarchs isn't a "free market."
there's no "just let ICE go after the 'bad ones'" there are no good immigrants/bad immigrants. there are no acceptable targets, no justifiable victims of state violence. I do not accept the starting position of fascism. I will not compromise when the stakes are someone else's life or freedom.

ICE is engaged in a very large escalation nationwide, with the agency claiming to be hitting record arrest numbers amid the return of quotas. This has gotten very little attention from the media because ICE learned lessons from the chaotic disasters of Kristi Noem’s tenure. Keep a watch.

I don't think either political party -- or anyone in politics, really -- is thinking in ambitious enough terms about the electricity grid. We need to start thinking of it as the foundation of our 21st century economy & prosperity. It needs to be rethought, rebuilt, & made a solid base for growth.

Someone has sure already made this observation but the fact they can convert all those empty warehouses into prison camps means they could have converted them into housing, community centers, job training centers or, hell, libraries or schools all along. It’s always a matter of will not resources.

Sometimes very hard not to feel like the rest of the country has abandoned Minnesota. We STILL have ICE everywhere. Our schools, businesses, and economy are in profound crisis. But without Bovino here throwing tear gas, much of the country seems to not care at all what’s being done to us.
