The Minneapolis City Council will vote Thursday on whether to override Mayor Jacob Frey’s veto and extend the eviction notice period for renters impacted by the ICE surge.

Tomorrow, the Mpls City Council is deciding whether to overturn the Mayor's veto of the pre-eviction notice extension. The state legislature is considering $40 million in rental assistance. Contact your city councilmember and legislator & urge them to support our neighbors via these two efforts.

According to the most recent data from HOME Line, eviction filings remained persistently high during April 2026, up 8% compared to April 2025, and 9.1% above the three-year average (2023-25) for the month.
