A Russian drone completely burned down the Holy Protection Church (Sviato-Vvedenska) in Boryslav, Kherson region, built in 1726. The church was an architectural monument of national significance and one of the few surviving examples of Cossack wooden sacral architecture.
They’ll screw this site up, won’t they? I mean it has its flaws, but those are not the ones these people want to fix.

I used to do some work on the ethical use of satellite and drone imagery for aid and disaster response, and it is genuinely hard to express in words what a dangerous, stupid thing Google is doing by making it easy to use GenAI to create faked satellite imagery:
How to plant a nuclear plant in Iran
The question is: what on earth is Google doing?

The oddest thing about the response to this essay is people who say it’s “personal”. You can disagree about some or all of it! I may well be wrong! But it’s not “personal” to analyze a film or other work of art, even negatively. Criticism is more than “Hurray!” or “Hiss!”
I think part of people’s reaction is based on the fact that actual, serious criticism has become so rare/niche. And by “serious” I don’t mean the intent, I mean actually doing it by pointing out shortcomings the way Wilson does.
I think it's absolutely good & fine for people to disagree with the essay's points but it is baffling to see complaints like "Wilson doesn't get that an adaptation makes changes" or "Wilson doesn't get cinema" or "Wilson should be more polite & gracious," like come on friends what are we doing here!
