Ugh, fine. Writer in Texas. I curse on the internet now. #HouSky www.jennystaffjohnson.com

I’m going to give y’all a little intel on an after dinner snack that punches above its weight — that is, if me, you enjoy eating like an eight year old: mini bluebell ice cream sandwich with grocery store rainbow sprinkles on it, in a bowl.

They're probably hoping you won't hear about this. But tomorrow in TX, Tarrant County officials meet to vote on a GOP plan to cut almost HALF of Election Day voting locations, plus 8 early voting locations, some of them on campuses. Not hard to guess why. fortworthreport.org/2026/07/30/t...

Tarrant County considers cutting 140 Election Day polling sites for November

County commissioners vote Aug. 4 on proposed reductions to the number of early voting and day-of sites for the midterms.

I've done so much elections work in Texas over the years, but I finally concluded that it wasn't going to be my little phone banks that swung things (great respect to those still doing this) but rather a swing of public sentiment so large that my relatively modest contributions aren't even needed.

Enten: "This is the best looking polling for Texas Democrats in a Senate race since really the 20th century ... Talarico is doing 9 points better than O'Rourke [in 2018] ... this could be very, very real. Democrats have a real shot in Texas."
