Like the dude was obviously a fabulist and probably a plagiarist but SO ARE ALL FUCKING ACADEMICS. He was also still a vulnerable, autistic Black man and the entire campaign against him was motivated by racism. All these things can be true.
Music professor Ian Pace has spent the past several weeks tweeting obsessively about the Jason Arday situation. One of his recent tweets is a sneer at somebody raising the concern that this disproportionate media frenzy over plagiarism would result in Arday's suicide. Arday killed himself today.
Kind of hard for Bluesky people to argue this was all about academic standards when these guys are openly crowing that it was about race

Beyond whistleblowing, he states that after a 'revolution' removes professors like Arday, it will open opportunities for him to become 'head of the department of eugenics and race science at Harvard'.
Lilly Wachowski deserves a vault of movie-making money that replenishes itself to infinity like those jugs of Faery wine that never run dry.
